Augmentative Alternative Communication Devices
In 2018, UK Autistic supplied almost 2500 Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) devices to mainly non verbal children and young adults.
In 2019 we plan to DOUBLE the amount of lives that we transform with this cutting edge technology. It’s the modern way that PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) is utilised. Such has been the success and good reviews from the beneficiaries that we are planning to extend the service into 2019 and beyond.
Applying for an AAC Device
All applications are looked at personally by at least one of the trustees.
As we are sure you are aware, trustees fulfil their duties on a voluntary basis, and may also have full time jobs. With this in mind, we ask you to be patient, we will deal with all applications and consider each one on its merit.
Of course, there are only a limited number of machines, and this is down to the funds that we have available to provide them, as we have no government funding or indeed funding of any kind. This is a route we have chosen to take and are determined to stick to our model, which we believe will be the future of modern charitable organisations.
To apply for a device, you will first need to register with us as a member, you will then be able to complete an application form.
