At UK Autistic, we are pro actively building autism communities in order that we have a voice that is heard by everybody from employers to policy makers. It is not something that is going to happen overnight but with the will and strength of many dedicated people, attitudes will alter and opportunities increase for autistic people right across the spectrum.
We receive no government funding or indeed funding or support of any kind apart from that of people who choose to support us by buying one of our products, playing our raffle, joining as a member or making a donation. Our services are free and always will be. Of that we are determined. Of course to make this possible we do need the support of our members, the public and importantly autistic people themselves.
UK Autistic utilises the unique skill sets of autistic people, providing a safe environment to develop social and life skills alongside neuro typical people. We endeavour to keep an equal balance of neuro typical and neuro diverse (autistic and non autistic) team members, voluntary and paid, working together to make positive changes, learning from one another in order to make society more autistic friendly.
One of the best ways that you can support UK Autistic is to become a full member from just 62p per week. Free members enjoy the benefit of :
